I recently got an extra 2.5 gallon tank, so I decided to build a vivarium. I used only native plants, collected from my grandparents 20-some acres. All of the plants are mosses, except for a little bit of clover. I'll continue to add more moss and plants as I find them. Along with all the plants came a load of bugs and such. I'm finding new critters every day. I know there's a coule centipedes in there, as well as a spider who's built a web behind a piece of bark. There's also a small northern chorus frog that I've raised from a tadpole. He just lost his tail about 2-3 days ago. I'm not sure of any exact species when it comes to the plants and such...
Here's a couple of the frog:
I really like the moss in the upper right corner.
Hopefully I'll get a couple more plants to fill in some bare spots soon. Maybe something a little more leafy than moss. I'd like to stick to native plants, so I guess I'll just have to keep looking around.
Suggestions and comments welcome!
