Question Eastern Newts...

Anybody have these guys?

I know they are ornage when young and live on land then turn aquatic and green in color when older.
There are 2 that my sister found inside a barn last summer. They are in a storage bin that is long but not so tall with zoo med? moss that is kept wet with some aquarium caves and some silk plants and are fed live bloodworms.
One is small but is greenish in color, the other is longer and fatter but still bright orange with red spots.
can anyone provide any other info as this is about all I can find online.

hi
i would steer you in the direction of an amphibian forum for advise to be honest.
hope you find something.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

When they become green, adult newts they'll be fully aquatic. I've got three of them. You'll probably need to put them in a half aquatic, half terrestrial habitat until they've morphed.. Then they'll need a mostly aquatic set up with a small area for them to surface on. Mine rarely peak out of the water though.
