heh toads are cannibalistic mainly for this purpose:
1)hunger(make sure to feed him and watch him eat and make sure all of em eat)
2)Territory issues?how many males do you have? 4males? with no female because that is completely stupid to do....you need to make sure each male has a female this applies to most animals
3)Ehh just didnt like him
4)Prob wanted to try a new food? try providing diff foods maybe roaches,crickets,meal worms(as a treat),wax worms(as treats), super worm and etc... i sometimes feed my american toads random insects like moths,beetles,flies,spiders and anything i see and want to torment -cough- err i mean feed xD
