That looks like it would create too much current for a fire bellied newt. All newts need as little as possible current, not to mention the pump would heat the water, and 70* F is about as hot as newts can handle.

I would suggest a Green Tree Frog, though you would need to build a false bottom so that you could have a land area. If you are interested send me a message and i can help you out.

im torn between the poison dart frog, firebellied toad and firebellied newt. ive narrowed it down that far, but im leaning toward the FBtoad.

HOWEVER... it seems i have suffered a minor setback :(

minor standstill at the moment, im afraid :( bit by bit im aquiring stuff for my 110 so i can start getting it cycled, and the vivarium has had to take a back seat for a little while, after the whole tank break.

i have the innards of the 10g river tank out and cleaned up, however i think i might go with a 15 or 20 gallon tank to put it in, so i can carry out my vivarium :) ill keep you guys up to date when I finally replace the broken tank (i just got back from vacation!) and restart my photo journal :)

thanks for asking willow!

hi
no worries. :)
hope you had a nice time.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.
