new 10g firebellied toad viv

well, 2 of my 4 firebellies have inexplicably disappeared, I suspect they died and the remaining 2 ate them. SO i changed things up a bit. I did away with the reptile tetra automatic heater and I did away (temporarily, until I get screen to separate it) with the coconut fiber bedding. aaand moved them all into a 10g!!

using a duetto 50 as a filter, and a 2x 10 watt incandescent hood with screw in full spectrum florescent bulbs.



and here it is all nestled into the bookshelf I rebuilt to house this tank, and eventually my 10g betta sorority.

looks nice, alot like my old firebelly 10 gallon. i had the exact same problem, 2 of my 3 toads disapeared and only the largest was left lol.

Ummm...I see at least three 10g sized shelves. You're probably going to have to think of at least one more idea for a 10g to put on there in addition to the toads and betta sorority, or the shelving would just look out-of place.

Lol. I really like the new tank. I want to start up a viv for something eventually if I ever get the Ok.

actually the 2 tank shelves are the only ones tall enough to fit a 10g with a light. I tried mounting the guts of the light right to the shelf above but it got just hot enough with the screw in florescent bulbs to make me nervous.

the upper shelf is the only single shelf reinforced enough to hold a full 10g tank... its got a 2x4 hidden under there, right above the viv light :)

who knows.... maybe I can find something funky to fit under there. maybe an eclipse 6 or another 10g with a custom light solution... but id need more 2x4s and paint.... oh well. HOME DEPOT FOR THE WIN! :D

That's beautiful! My FBT, Tad has a similar setup. I've had him for 5 years now.
