Thanks derbyno1. The leo is the only one that I have at the moment - but I can see that increasing with time - I'm already thinking of upgrading to a larger tank and having a shot at breeding in the future if all goes well with this one

if you do try to breed them make shore you get about 3 females to 1 male or the male will stress the female out and it will become egg bound.

If you have any questions about them you should check out reptile rooms they have alot of info on any kind of reptile. I almost got a leo but i got my tegu instead check my thread.

He has grown, and has quite a fat stomach now, but I'm worried that his tail is so thin. Looking back at the photograph I took when I got him, it was much fatter back then.

He seemed to be having trouble with the crickets I was feeding him, he would snap at them, but then spit them out again. I ordered a much smaller size online but the trouble is they are tiny! He's snapping them up which is good, but I've ordered a size up and they will arrive this week and I'm hoping to get him fed up and that he'll start gaining weight in his tail.

I tried him with mealworms a few weeks back, and he loves them, but they seem to upset his stomach.

Apart from that, he seems to be quite contented. He spends much less time in his hidebox and a lot more time looking out of the front of the tank at me and exploring. Hopefully the next size of cricket will be more suitable for him.

hay kate,
hmmm he should have quite a fat tail by now,
as that is the fat store. You could add some wax worms,
watch them though as they are ment to be the
equivilent(sp) of cake :) yum yum
as for the mealworms,crush the heads completly before feeding,
and if you want to add hoppers(locus) they are also fattening,
but should be excepted.

I will try to get some waxworms at the weekend. As for crushing the mealworms heads.... eughhh
