White Spots - NOT ICH. Help!

I recently purchased a platy (along with a few other fish) from my local fish store. They immediately went into my quarantine tank. The platy developed a small white dot on her caudal fin. Thinking it was ich, I went to my local fish store and purchased some ich medication. By the next day, the spot has grown three times its original size and became shaped like a grain of rice. It has been three days now since the original sighting and there are now two easily-visible pill-shape things on her tail. I can't find anything that fits this description on any forum. It is NOT Ich or anchor worm. And none of the other fish have this... What can this be? Please help!

It could be cotton wool disease...I'm fighting some of that right now myself, and 2 of the 4 that have it, started out like kinda like you are describing, the other 2 started at the mouth. I'm having a hard time finding you a pic at the moment because all the pics I find are more advanced ones.
I had brought 2 home from the pet store with it, not knowing...I just did not look at them close enough, soon enough. by the time I caught it, they were in the tank a couple days already and it spread.

If it does turn out to be that, I was told to treat it with fungus medicine, which did not work, then read just last night somewhere that it is a bacteria, not a fungus, so should be treated with coppersafe I think it was?
I would take a pic of mine for you, but they are in a hospital tank right now where I can't get pics since it's a rubermaid container with an air pump, heater, cycled rock etc. Best I could do on short notice as it was obviously spreading fast.
Can you get a pic of yours to post up?
