White Mucas

I have a white mucas growing in my tank rather quickly and it's getting cloudy, wasn't there yesturday. It's in strands about 1- 2 inch on my filter and anubias nana. The only inhabitant is a crowntail beta. I got the bata yesturday but the tank has been established for quite some time. My heater took a crap over night so temp is around 74 (being replaced asap). The params were all fine last night after water change. Any help is greatly appreciated

i just said this to another member: i cannot tell without a picture but it sounds like a "fungus" has grown from un-eaten food.
i know the sinking tablets are a big cause of this "fungus" if its what i think your talking about and they also contribute to cloudiness. im sure other fish foods will have the same effects, be careful of overfeeding it will just harm your water quality.
