but my filter is rated for a 40 gallon tank and im in a 30 it has all the filter media that most of the others have, and I may have silica gravel, im not sure. but if the gravel was this much of a problem wouldnt it have happened before now (2+ months after it was added)

I GET VERY CLEARLY YOUR POINT BUT SOMETHING IS FOULING YOUR WATER, MAYBE A HIDDEN DEAD FISH, OR EVEN A SHRIMP, SOR MAYBE SOMETHING IS ROTTEN AND DILLUSTED IN THE WHOLE WATER, BUT YOSUR HAVE TO MANAGE TO DISCOVER THE CULPRIT OR CULPRITS.

Neither do I think it is.

my tap water is 7.6 so thats not the cause of the acid, and nothing in the tank has been added
I'd look into KH and GH.

I think the cloudy water is some kind of bacteria because of the bad smell, and the acid may be a result, like i said when i do a water change it gets better (not worse) but the next day its back to bad
You said you have 1 ppm ammonia. How many times do you feed a day and how much? How often do you maintain the tank?

What are the filter media in it? Do you have activated carbon in your filter? How often do you replace it? 2-4 weeks is about the norm for replacement. Failure to do so makes the carbon leached back substances it had initially absorbed thus resulting in cloudy water.

it was back to the way it was (cloudy, low low ph, super stink) so i repeat and increast water change level to 9 gal, and take out the fake rocks and sterilize and also clean gravle,at this time levels look ok, and not so cloudy, but the next day its back again. what do I need to do??? its been like this for about a week
How did you clean the gravel? There was no need to clean the gravel. Boiling and using detergents also kill beneficial bacteria.

I'm ready for the pressure.
The drama and the pleasure!
If there is one thing I want to see here, it's HUMOR.
I believe I can fly!
I believe I can touch the sky!
I think about it every night and day!
I stand in awe of my body.
