I've been trying to get this canister filter going for almost 24 hrs now... I'm so frustrated I might cry. Please help. I don't want his fish to die
It is a marineland magnum 350. It sits under the tank in a homemade cabinet.
the input draws water from the tank using a pvc pipe that elbows down to a short hose connect it to the canister/
the output returns in a similar manner with a very short hose and pvc that runs up to the tank. the water "rains" over the length of the tank through the pvc.
Right now the majority of the input hose is almost completely filled with air with a slight trickle of water. The out hose is filled with water with no visible air pockets (however I can't see in the pvc). There is a slight trickle to the top of the tank.
This morning however both hoses appeared to be filled but there was no returning water... yes the filter was on.
How do I "prime" as someone has suggested... or just overall increase suction. Please... I know this is simple to you all but I'm in over my head and so frustrated. I've spent so much time already trying to reinvent the wheel with this.
This experience is not fostering any love for my boyfriend's fish tank that's for sure.
