Tiger Barb Strange Behavior

I originally had 8 tiger barbs, 4 of which were green, in a 45 gallon tank. One of them (green) died a few days after acclimation. A few weeks ago I added 4 more tigers (3 green). From the day I added them one of the greens completely stuck to himself, hiding in the plants, until he died after about a week. Almost immediately after he died, another of the green tigers has exhibited the same behavior. Does not eat, does not shoal, doesn't even chase after any of the cory's, just sits in the same spot under the same plant and does nothing.

None of the other fish exhibit any of these traits. I've never seen any of the other barbs harrassing the loner. Any suggestions?
