hi, welcome to fishforum.

yes, betta's do jump. when you do water changes make sure the water is de-chlorinated...

also, what size tank are you keeping your betta in... smaller the tank, the faster it will get dirty...

try to get atleast 2.5 gallons of water for them... but 5 gallons recommended... get a lid, but make sure there is space between the water and the lid... they breathe directly from surface air...

get a HOB filter or an internal filter recommended for that size of tank, and a 25 W heater... and your betta will be happy...

HOB = Hang on Back

In a tank of 5g which I would recommend, 2.5g is really too small IMHO, one filter would be all that is needed. A heater will be required unless your room temperature is in the high 70s which I doubt, as that would be quite uncomfortable for us to live in. Bettas don't like a strong current. The filter I use in my betta tank is an Elite Stingray 5. It's rated for 5g. Cost will depends entirely on where you live. I think mine cost 12 which is really quite cheap.

Sorry to hear about your fish. :(

IMHO - in my honest opinion

I can't convert 12 for you because I don't know where you live. Put it into an online currency converter and it will tell you how much it is equal to.
