Tetras with white fuzz

Hi everyone, I just got a new fish tank about a week ago with 4 tetras (the kinda clear ones) and after about 2 days i noticed that they were starting to grow white fuzz on their fins. I heard that this could be Fin rot so I got Melafix and after about 3 days i noticed it wasn't helping at all it was just getting worse. After I noticed it was getting worse i went and got Pimafix (the local fish store guy said it could be some sort of fungus) this still hasn't helped. The white fuzz or whatever it is has now moved to the mouth and tail of some of the fish. I don't know what it could be or why it wont' go away, I removed the carbon from the filter and tested the water everything is fine. PLEASE HELP!!

should i not use the pimafix anymore?

Have you made sure that your filter doesn't have activated carbon in it? Make sure you remove all activated carbon before using medication in your tank.

If the Pimafix isn't working you could try Maracyn-TC or another Tetracycline Hydrochloride medication, but I've had a lot of success with Pimafix.
