Is something wrong?

I have a 30 gallon tank with 6 fish in it, 3 Serpae Tetra and 3 Zebra Danio. The three zebras seem to be fine, but as of recently my 3 serpae have begun losing parts of their top fin. The tips of their bottom fins also look white. Their tail fins seem to be fine though. Any ideas as to what this is? I've had them for about a month so far and they've shown nothing else wrong.

They are all eating normally, and their tank is currently cycling so their nitrite just began to go up to .25 and their ammonia is about .75.

The tetras are probably starting to suffer some ill effects from the cycle. The danios are hardier fish that can handle the stress better of cycling. Some clean water with smaller water changes might the tetras feel a little better but I am not sure there is anything you can really do really help them out until the cycle is completed. Returning them might seem like an option but the damage is done and if they will live they will.

You will want to keep the ammonia down to or below .25, it will prolong the cycle but hopefully spare your tetras lives.
