Welcome to FishForum!

2.5 gallons is pretty small for 3 fish. I would suspect your water parameters are off.

How often do you change the water in your tank? How much do you change at a time?

Do you do any water testing for ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, or pH? Which test kit do you use (strips or liquid)? What were the results?

wus up!!!

maybe the fish was already sick when you bought it. when i first bought my first betta, turns out it had tail rot.

make sure the temp is between 75-80 degrees F. if the water is cold, it weakens the fishs immune system and makes it prone to diseases.

isolate the sick ones and use a seperate net forthe sick ones and for the healthy ones.

try adding a half a tablespoon of aquarium salt per gallon.
