| | SBD in a betta
Hello. I thought Id try over here so if anyone else could help me out. So I have a male betta named Elvis who has had a rough past few weeks. First the outlet that had his heater plugged in shorted out, causing him to have no heat for a few days. Now you say why didnt anyone notice? Well I was in the hospital and I am the one who takes care of all the fish. So no one else really checked on them other than to feed.
So now he has developed some fin rot, velvet (which he is slowly getting over) and a case of sbd. Ive been reading online about it and it seems its rarely caused by anything other than constipation(overfed) or trauma. Well he is not bloated or have a swollen belly. He actually looks a bit skinnier than normal. He does have a small area protruding near the end of his tail. He is usually in a S postion.
He has trouble swimming. At times he just sinks to the bottom. Or he will just stay in one corner and not move.
I am wondering if there is anything else I can do for him. I was considering getting a smaller tank,or lowering his water levels so he wouldnt have to swim as far. He is currently being treated with Aquarisol,Maraycin and Maraycin 2. I was advised to do this as per another fish person who seemed to know alot about bettas.
Any ideas? Thanks. |
