Okay, I messed up big time. I brought home 4 Ottos from the store and within 3 days, they were dead along with 13 other fish. When I realized the culprit was Columnaris, I immediatly treated my tank with Maracyn and Maracyn Two. Still more fish kept dying. I am now on day 4 of the 5 day treatment. I also dosed the tank with Melafix yesterday and this morning. The only fish that look good are my neon tetras, my
Platy's and danios are not looking all that great and they are not eating, but my neons are, so hopefully there is some hope for the neons.
My question is after day 5 of the treatment, should I perform a water change, vaccum the substrate and start another 5 day cycle? I really don't want to move my neons to another tank, because a few still have some fin issues.
See kids, this is why it's so important to QT your fish. It's amazing, I used to do that, but since I just bought Ottos, I knew there wouldn't be any algae for them to eat and I wasn't sure if they would live with just a algae wafer.
