To give a specific answer to your situation, i'd need a lot more details. Generally speaking, eye infections are a sign of deteriorating water quality, most likely pH or ammonia. If this is a betta bowl, i'd say it is time to change the water. If it is a community tank, then do a 50% partial.

You should follow up by testing for pH, ammonia, and Nitrite, or having your LFS test these for you.

It could be ammonia burn or could be something more serious going on inside the fish. please post other details.

I also have a betta that we've had for over a year and it has had a bubble on one of it's eyes twice now. The first time it happened, it went away in a couple of days and it's happening right now again. I will change the water, but I was wondering if it was happening this time because we just recently got a snail for the bowl. We've had the snail for a couple of weeks.

Any other suggestions?
