Camallanus worms (intestinal parasite)

Sounds like your Guppy has Camallanus worms (intestinal parasite) it can be fatal if not treated and can infect the rest of your tank. My friend had this and treated with Levamisole. You can Google Camallanus worms and see if you can get some medicine for it. This medicine is strong and my friends fish did not make the treatment. I think you have to treat and wait a week and retreat for any new worms. If you see the worms sticking out like the pictures when you google then that is what it is. If your Guppy is not eating then it might be to late to save it. You do need to treat the tank so your other fish dont' get it. Maybe someone else knows more about this treatment with Levamisole.

Do you have live plants? If not you could probably use a salt treatment...

Treatment for Camallanus worms

My friend e-mailed me where she got the treatment from.

Charles Harrison
charles@inkmkr.com

You should contact Charles and ask how much to use for your size tank as the smallest amount shipped will treat 100 gal. tank. He can give you information on how to use it and how long to treat. If you get the Levamisole from him.

I hope this helps some of you that might have the same problem.
