HI im new here and i joined mainly cause one of my fish, a gold gourami, is acting really strange. can you please help me figure out what to do or whats even happening?
ok this is whats happening-my fish is going up to the top of the tank at random times then starts swimming on one side. i read that it may be cause of a swim bladder problem but then my fish goes back to normal swimming position and springs around the tank super super fast and hits the walls and everything and then it goes back to normal. Around it's mouth it also look like the skin is peeling and i dont know why. the rocks i have at the bottom of the tank (not the gravel, just decorative rocks) are turning yellow like a rusty color. i hope its not cause hes rubbing against them. i also tried to put a frozen pea in the water cause i read it might help but it doesnt really seem like its helping. :(
please help and if you need more details i'll give 'em to ya.
In order to help you we first need to know some info about your tank, fish, situation.
How long has the tank been set up?
What kind of gourami is this and what other fish are in the tank? How many?
What are your water params for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH?
What is the temp?
Is there any way you can post a picture of the tank?
This could be swim bladder related, but it could also be a number of other things. Once we have the information we'll be able to help you sort it out.
