I have a 5 gallon guppy tank that I have had running for about 5 days now, and the PH is at 6.4 and I cant get it to go up.
Ive added ph powder that is supposed to bring the water to a perfect 7.0, but there is no immediate change.
Any advise?
Don't use the powder. Instead add crushed coral to your substrate which should bring it up.
There may be no need to alter your ph anyway as guppies are quite adaptable, though they do prefer harder water. If you decide to alter it use crushed coral instead of any chemicals. The chemicals are very bad for the fish long term.
