Peacock Ell

i have a 2 peacock ells and one on one side of his body has a whiteish area almost looks like he peeling.

i only had them for about a week i did a 1/2 water change now.

i know they have no scales and you can't put chemicals in the water so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas what this might be.

i took a few pic i need to edit then ill post them. edit as in mark the areas in question.

thanks for the help

I went thru this the first few days I got my eel. A soon as it jumped out it grew all over its body. I figured it was fungus but to tell u the truth I didnt do anything. Since eels+medecine are a big nono, I simply just waited it out. Prob. wasnt the best thing to do but it worked out.

Someone else just had a similar question.

The only thing that I personally know about eels is this: If they get out of their tank, their skin will dry and peel. They are sensitive to ammonia, so make sure your water parameters are where they need to be, and if the decoration they hide in has rough edges they can get marks like that.

Don't know how much help I was, but I try. : )

Pardon the pun, but I'm hooked!
