I noticed this morning that one of my black platies was laying on his back at the bottom of the tank. Of course, I was immediately concerned, but after i went over to the tank he started to act normal again. Except... He (he's a male) has a bubble like spot on his head. At first I thought maybe he cut himself on something...but I'm thinking maybe its more parasitic and he was just trying to rub it off against the pebbles at the bottom. The water quality is normal. Ph is fine, no ammonia, nitrite or nitrate. The only problem is that I don't have a heater and the tank is usually at 72-73 degrees F. I bought a heater today and plan on bringing it up to about 78. Hopefully that will stop the stress in the fish. Right now, I am treating the water with "Prevent-Ich" It's for "Ich, Fungus, Protozoans and Dinoflagellates" I do have a baby Platy in the tank as well as two other platies (one male, one female). For now im waiting for see how they react to the temperature increase, but i want to act immediately with medication. Is there a specific medcine that you have to use for whatever it is my fish might have? Oh, Also it's a 10 gallon tank. Please helppp, Thank you =)
