On this forum, saying water is "normal" doesn't help much, so you really need to know what your water parameters are, and ideally use the liquid API test kits, as they are more reliable than the strips.
Also, a range of 78-84 is huge for a fish. Hopefully, you don't have that kind of fluctuation, or that could be the problem. Look at the profiles for the ideal range for the Oscar, and keep the temp within that.
