Unhappy not really a disease but an emergency

Came home from work and was feeding my community/sorrority tank and it seems that one of my fish bit one of my danios face off... well reallly its only his mouth... hes still alive and i moved him in to a qt tank with some aq salt... just wondering if there's anything else i can do for him or if its too late for him... wish i could post pics... hes swimming around jus fine but the bottom part of his mouth/jaw is gone... anything?

3 Gold Barbs
3 White Cloud Danios
3 Neon Tetras
6 Ghost Shrimp
1 Chinese Algae Eater
10 Gal- Vamp (CT)

Awwww... poor fishy. I'd start dosing with Melafix to avoid secondary infection.

Sounds like you have some aggression in your main tank so I'd try to figure out what's going on there before you put him back in the tank. Fish will pick on injured or weak fish.

Good luck - i hope he makes it. Is he able to eat at all?

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

I would definately try to feed him something small and easy-to-catch. Try small amounts of BBS, or if you don't have any, powdered fish food.

Thanks for all ur advice guys but he swam on to fishy heven... I think its my chinese algae eater so hes gotta go before he causes more trouble
