Of course you can't release them. That is not ever a good thing to do, when you are introducing species that are not native to an area. Tell your mom you'd like to place an ad on Craigslist (it's free) or donate them to a petstore that may take them for you. There are many options, even Petsmart has a board that you could pin a flyer on that you are looking for good homes for them. That's just wrong and cruel to dump them. Tell your mom to give you some time to get them placed.
