New african dwarf frog sick

I just got a ADF from petsmart and right now he looks like he is dying. I had to make an unexpected stop so he stayed in the bag for a long time. He might have gotten chilled. When I got home he was flipped on his back. I thought he was dead but when I touched him he irratically swam. I put him in a betta cup with about 1 inch of water because he doesn't seem to have the strength to swim to the top for air. He will still flip on his back every once in a while but now he is moving a little more. Is there anything else I could do?

Aww... poor froggy. ADFs from Petsmart are never very healthy... I try to bye mine elsewhere whenever possible. It was a good idea to put him in shallow water, but make sure you keep it warm enough. Keep the water very clean, and offer some easy to eat foods.

Thanks. I've actually sat the cup on top of the hood of my tank and that is keeping the water warm. I'm thinking of putting him in a tupperware container (also with shallow water) so he will have more room. I'm hoping he makes it through the night. I figured I would have good luck getting another one since my other one also came from petsmart and it is very healthy.

If you can warm him up it might help. A plastic breeder bos in a heated tank would be a way to warm him up.
