So I purchased new fish from petco, they all looked healthy. It's been 2 weeks since and now I have anchor worm, lice, fin rot....I had ich but I got it cured. I have taken my filter out and media.. I am treating the tank with Melafix and some lice and anchor worm killer....I am using aquarium salts too.. What else can cure my tank... My fish are getting clamped fins too...I am trying everything :crying:
What is used to convert/remove ammonia and nitrite from the water? I assume, daily water changes? To start, what fish do you have ? Size of the tank? Does it have substrate? How do you clean it? When do you clean it? Size of the tank? Whats teh water temperature? Whats the water conditions like?
It's a 40 gallon and I do water changes every other day, I take out 15 gallons. Then I vacuum once a week. The tank has already cycled and had 0 ammonia reading 0 nitrites reading and 20 ppm nitrates and now since I've been treating the tank I have a small spike of nitrites .5... I have substrate amd the temp is 78.6 I have mollies, tiger barbs, platties and a few groumis, they all get along and don't nip at each other I have lots of live plants in the tank as well, floating and in the gravel
I have removed the worms visible with tweezers. I always keep a close eye on my fish everyday...they're spoiled rotten really
