My platy- help- urgent!!!

My platy is showing a white patch above it's mouth, it looks kinda torn up with some black in it. I've got no idea what it is. Please help!!! E:\DCIM\100MSDCF\DSC00364.JPG

wat are u water pramaters?

Thanx for helping me out and showing me this link. I greatly appreciate that! My tank size is 10 gallons and the parameters are:

height:12"
length:20"
width:10"

Water parameters should be ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and pH. Test your tank water with API liquid test kit which is more accurate and reliable than most test kits available. Avoid the test strips. Please include the temperature. That is also very important. For the questionnaire which would be more convenient, click one of the topics with the status "Announcement" in this section.

My guess at the moment is columnaris but without the pictures, I cannot just diagnose straight away and recommend medicines in case I give a wrong advice which can kill your fish.

Instructions for uploading photos. Format should not be bmp as it will not be uploaded by our photo uploading system. Use www.photobucket.com as another option to upload your images.
