It is a 400 gallon tank. His tank mates are=FL Gar, Brown Koi. Have had set up for a month now. Have had amonia spikes up to 1. I check daily and do partial water changes. Right now amonia is at .25.We had 3 crawdads in the tank and he ate them maybe this is an injury from this
Poor thing. I guess with no other symptoms it's possible that it's a cut from the cray shells. If it were me, I'd keep the water as pristine as possible and keep doing those water changes.
Not sure if Melafix would be a good idea with your type of fish but I've had good luck with it in the wound dept. Good luck.
No Melafix. It will not help much if the sore is already infected. How big is the pacu? Consider a rubbermaid tub temporarily for the poor guy and be sure you have a heavy lid on it to prevent it from jumping. Add a teaspoon per gallon dose of sodium chloride. Dissolve before adding. Keep temperature at 78 degrees Fahrenheit.
came home from work today and he is looking and feeling better. Amonia down to 0. He is eating like crazy again and playing with his buddy Clyde the Koi. He is 10 inches right now. My FL Gar is around 8 inches. Must of been a wound from the crawldad.
