my neon tetra is looking strange...

i have 3 blue l-f danios, 4 zebra danios, and 4 neon tetras in my 20 gal tank. one of my neons has been having a discoloration that, for some reason, has been coming and going. for a while b4 he was really bad and i was really considering putting him down...

but recently the spot was gone, and i couldnt tell any of the neons apart! his stripe was gone b4 rite away when the first strike hit, but now its still there, albeit being a little faint. he was in same light all this time, and im really confused. any1 know wats happening? oh, and it has been the same one, and it has now come and gone, i think, 3 times, not including this one.

Ive delt with this before aswell.

the neon seems to get a white discolouration/patch on him - not fungus or parasites, they just seem to turn white.

i dont beleave it is neon tetra disease but i do beleave it has to do with an illness approching, i find this discolouration is usually fallowed by a fungus or somethimes white spot.

my advice would be to check water parameters and monitor the fish closely- a quarintine may also be in order.

i moniter it very closely lately, and it seems to be away from the other neons, except that they sometimes go over to him/her and touch the sick fish, who then sometimes goes with the school, but not long. i also have nothing as a quarintine, as i only lost one of my fish about 4 months ago, and this fish is the first diseased one. it looks, for some reason, to be getting better again, and im really confused. has this happened to you greg?
