+one. A few months ago while visiting local fish store,I saw a two inch Green Terror which as a result of being housed with a group of Jewel cichlids, was missing nearly all of it's tail and dorsal fin.
The fish was in such a bad way that they gave me the fish.
I placed the fish in 20 gallon tank and performed three weekly 25 percent water changes and over a period of three weeks, the tail fin and dorsal fin began to heal and grow anew.
The fish now resides in 56 gallon tank , and you can not tell that it is/was the same fish at nearly five inches.
No medications were used ,just water changes three times a week (Monday,Wed,Sunday) along with a variety of quality foods.
Medications have their place but often times,,the best medication is clean water for if the water conditions are poor,,all of the medications one wishe's to use will be largely ineffective and condition or symptoms affecting the fish will persist.
Take care of the water,,and fish will by and large remain healthy and their immune system .,much like our own,,will ward off the need for medications for the most part.
