Bettas do not get full.
They eat whatever you give them if they are healthy.
It is advised to feed 4 pellets a day as a staple, but once a week a pea & bloodworm to mix it up.

ok i just feed him a bit of pea today just to get his appetiet going so tommorow I will feed him a pelet and see if he likes it.
I dropped a pelet in his tank and he seemed vey curious about it. He flared up (for like 1 second)a bit at it then took a little nibble then he swam away.

My bettas love the frozen brine shrimp, I know you said something about not wanting to do shrimp but if he won't eat the frozen bloodworms try out the frozen brine shrimp. Also, you may have a flake eater. One of our four bettas likes flakes. He won't touch the pellets. He did the same thing kind of nibbling on it but he devours the flakes. They're picky little buggers!!!

Good luck!

YES!!!! I got him some flakes and he seems to like them. I als o got a API test kit. I tested his water and the results came up to be around 7.3 pH. Is that bad? The thing said it is ideal for it to 7.0 pH.

He'll be fine..most fish are capable of adjusting and it's doubtful that any water he was kept in at the store was a perfect 7.0

This is the song that never ends...
