Missing Beta!!!! 911!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have 2 female beat fish in my 10 gal tank. I have had these 2 fish for almost a year now. They are alawys happy, playing, will greet you and kiss your fingers when you feed them. I love my fish! they both seem to get along really well. I was told by the folks at Pet Smart that 2 females together was fine. Here is the dilema! about an hour ago I went to feed them and I noticed one of them was missing! I've looked in all of the plants, went throught the rocks, and filters. She is no where to be found!!! I know she couldn't have jumped out the tank is alawys closed. Absolutely positive on that! If the other one would have killed her wouldn't I have noticed? I'm very attentive towards them and the tank is in a place where I watch them all the time. I just have no clue what could have happened! Any suggestions??????????Please!!!!!!!!!![/

i'm sorry to hear about your fish, but the only advice i can give you is to recheck your tank, your filter, and everywhere around your tank. do you have any large decorations that she could be stuck in/under? i have missed a fish, and then come back to find it later. they can be sneaky little things. i hope you find her!!

A missing fish is a big deal, because if the fish died somewhere in the tank it could cause your water parameters to get all out of whack. Go through the aquarium again, and remove all of the decorations if you have to. She could have jumped out during tank maintenance so you should check around the aquarium as well.

Never say never. Check the floor around. And like everyone else said re check your aquarium. One time I had a swordtail go missing, and I searched all around my aquarium, and all through it. I didn't find him. So a few days later I was doing a water change and I knocked over a sea shell and I saw scales n stuff float out of it so I looked inside and there was my dead swordtail...
