medicine help

my new betta got white spot a few days after i got him, so i added medicine following the directions in the instructions, it said add 1 treatment wait 4 days add a 2nd treatment and then the tank has to be left 7 days before you can treat again if needed. however, my betta has recovered but 2 days after the 2nd treatment all my tetra have white spot, and its a worse case than my betta had. should i follow the instructions carefully like it says or should i retreat the water now?
is fish medicine like human medicine where overdosing can be lethal?

Sounds like you might have ICH, I would start treatment immediately and remove any carbon you have in your filters (if you have any)

10g Fry / Hospital / QT tank (as needed)

75g Saltwater Reef, Ocellaris Clownfish, Lyretail Antias (baby), Lemon damsel, Longtail Fairy Wrasse, purple dottyback, snails, crabs and a few LPS corals.

220g Still sitting empty (come on Lottery I need the numbers to come up!)
