?medication caused fish to change color

I am treating Ick in my freshwater, 20gal tank with Formalin. On Monday I gave a half dose (10 drops), skipped yesterday (states alternating days), and put half dose tonight. I can't remember what time I gave the dosage but I think it was 1 1/2-2 hours.

I just checked them to make sure everyone was doing okay and 2 of my White Clouds (red finned variety) are black and their stripes are a red color instead of the normal copper color . They are swimming around and when they pass under the water return they fan out their top and bottom fins upright/downward which is not normal (even when my pair are spawning) and then a short distance out of the bubbles they put them back to normal. At first I thought they were goofing around until I realized it wasn't the mating pair. They seem to be mildly agitated but not freaking out. The older female is usually beating the tar out of the male whenever he comes too close, so this is even more bizarre that they are in the same 4 inch space of the tank together. I turned the lights off about 10 minutes ago and they settled down after a few minutes. Maybe the swimming behavior is normal and I have just never have seen it?

Is this color change safe? Could the medication be making them light sensitive as well (these particular fish have never behaved in this manner ?

My young female White Cloud has not been affected. My Platys are still normal color. I haven't been able to get a complete visual of the Yo-yo loach as yet and probably won't be able to see him in entirety until morning (he has been in hiding ever since my shark jumped and he is alone) but from what I can see of his whiskers and tail he seems to be normal color as well. Any theories?

Hmm what are the water params in the tank, bad water params can have an adverse effect on the fish whilst using meds, also can you name all the fish in the tank, some fish arent tolerant of all meds

change of color?

I checked params on the 19th prior to starting treatment
Ph 8
nitrite 0
ammonia 0
nitrate 10

I have 1 Yo-yo loach, 3 White Clouds (red finned variety), and 4 Red wag Platy, and several live plants.

The instructions state to run treatment until under control, then do a 25% change. Wait for ten days and run again and then 25% change.
