I have inherited a 75 gal freshwater tank with a pair of breeding angelfish. I fed the tank as usual this morning: omega flakes and shrimp pellets. The tank inhabitants, bristlenose pleco; red cories, neons, 7 turquise rainbows and a pair of german rams, and the pair of angels, are all healty and doing well. When I returned home 5 hours after feeding the male angel was on the bottom dead. No signs of anything.
The tank has been stable since August and the plants are doing very well. Chemical parameters are all within safe ranges. All other inhabitants seem fine tonight.
My only thought is he may have "choked " on a shrimp pellet????? I am truly at a loss of what may have happened.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what may have happened to him?
