My gold fish had that and all my tiger barbs also have had it and died from it. I had all them isolated and it didn't effect my main tank but it swiftly killed the fish that did get it since they were so small when they got it. Is there a way to stirlize the tank they were in it do I simply get rid of it?

No need to get rid of the tank. Discard anything not needed and then use hot water and bleach to clean the tank itself and use the same solution to wipe down anything like heaters, intake tubes etc.

Rinse the tank and everything else really really well after that and then rinse everything again with conditioned water to remove any last traces of chlorine.

Sorry you lost your fish :(

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Thank you. I started on a bad note made all the rookie mistakes. My ten gallon tank is fine as I got the infected fish out before they spread it. I have two plecos one platy and one chiclid with two snails in my ten gallon. This started out on my goldfish and I had moved them out of the ten gallon when they showed signs of it. My tiger barbs also showed signs of it so I moved them as well. I vacumed the ten gallon out several times and did several daily water changes in it then added some aquarium salt to it and all been well in it.
I have to find a base for my 55 gallon then I will let it cycle for a couple of months before anything gets added to it.
