my gravel in the other tank is more of sand and will just make the water pitch black when agitated so i didnt do that i just used my biowheel and ill boil it before adding back into the other tank.

My guess, the oil you are seeing is residue off the foods you feed. Not really a problem.
Over feeding could make it worse.

ok so my rams are just getting worse and they are completly covered in ich, i cant even see thier color anymore so im sending them back to the pet store and will order some new ones, when they are gone i will keep the temp at 86 and keep up with the pwc and salt. as for the other tank i am seing some reduction on the pictus and the ick on the JD is nonexistant.
