Lost the black molley last night, next time I know how to handle this ick situation better. I only had the fish for about 2 weeks, Im wondering if it was sick when I got him.

It most likely was. Often when you get fish from large pet stores they are already.

happy owner of a wild type GFP axolotl named Percival and too many guppies to count.

I've looked into ich quite a bit and most info says minimum temp at 86f for 14 days will kill it. Ich has trouble breeding at 85f and 2 weeks gets you through all life cycles.

Consider the needs of your fish before acting on your desires.
