Hi, I'm new the forum, so hello all!
Ok My very first Mollie dies about a week and ahalf ago of Ich. I thought I got it all, but it rebounded so badly that my mollie died in just two days.
I decided to start from scratch. I completely emptied out the quarium, ran everything under HOT HOT HOT water, let it dry out for a couple days, then filled up the tank, added all the stuff back in, added "Tetra Easy Balance" to the water, let it cycle for about a week.
I just bought 4 new mollies, one male and 3 female. Now my male mollie is showing those white spots.
My question is, I've heard adding salt to the water helps this. The heats already turned up to about 83 degrees to quicken the ich cycle, I've added "Wardley Essentials Ick Away" and I'm suppose to change 50% of the water out, and I've already pulled out the carbon package from the filter.
What kind of salt do I use, how much, how often, and any other ick remedies that you have to share will be very appreciated! Thanks
oh, and it's a 10 gallon tank. I've recently added 2 green catfish, but if the salt kills them I don't care as long as it gets rid of the ich
