This is just really dissapointing and saddening :( I put as much work as i have time for into the tank and it sucks to have sick fish again. I just hope they make it through. This ick nonsense just makes me want to give up on the aquarium ughhhh!! | I've gone through bouts of ick more times than I should have, which only means I get careless or risky too often. The good news is that ick can easily be cured without fish loss if it's caught early. Just remember to maintain the medication for at least a week. Raising the temp as Twistersmom suggests helps as it quickens the life cycle of ick. The parasites can only be killed during the free-swimming stage, and the whole life cycle last several days, so a minimum of one week treatment (with no reduction in the strength of the medication throughout) is best. Some advocate longer, although I have had success with 5-6 days.
