i think my betta is really sick

i first noticed a few days ago here are his symptoms:
he will eat food and then spit it back out a few seconds later , i tired a new food but he will eat then the next day he regurgitated it
He has lost his bright red color and has faded to a pale red/tan more so tan though
lies at the bottom of the tank
but then sometimes he will get a burst of energy and start swimming
the odd thing is though is that my female is perfectly healthy, and swimming around

Sorry to hear about your betta :( , hopefully we can help you figure out what's wrong with him. We'll need a little more info to help you out though. Could you tell us about the tank he's in - size, temp, if it's filtered, ect. Do you have a heater? The water parameters would also help. Is the female in the same tank as the sick betta? How long have you had him, and how long has the tank been set up?
