about 4 weeks ago i started my tank.
1 week after i added 4 sunset platies and 4 sword platies (not sure if that is their name).
2 weeks ago two of my sword platies died! one looked like it was injured.. but i can't tell (it looked like he had a hole it its gut with a long string coming out of it (presumably intestine?)
I just figured they had a fight.
week after 2 more of the sword p[laties died. one of them was dead under a rock and i could retreive the body. so it had been in there for a few days. Then my pleco died! he had white all over his face. i am wondering if the dead fish in the tank may have caused the pleco to die??
any ideas

Two words, Ammonia and nitrites. You need to do a water change if you haven't and possibly do more than one in the next 3 days. If you do not have a test kit I would get one now and get at least ammonia and nitrites.

The reaosn for the ammonia and nitrites and most likely the deaths of the fish is the tank is not cycled. another 4-6 weeks will have it cycled but you can expect some more fish to die in the mean time. Get the test kits and don;t add anymore fish until your tests show that you have zero ammonia and nitrites for at least a week. Oh and don't get the cheap test strips, get a good liquid regeant test kit, either API or similar.
