Hospital Tank Question

I have looked through some other threads but did not find an answer to my question. So hopefully someone could provide me with a little guidance.

I noticed yesterday that two of my platies had signs of ich. So I quickly set up a 3 gal hospital tank to separate them form the rest of my fish. I am slowly increasing the water temp (Currently 81 degrees) and added some aquarium salt (1/2 Tablespoon). After some advice from my local fish store, I added Copper power green to the hospital tank (no treatment in the main tank).

However, this is not my main issue, the Ich seems to be getting better. During their short stay in the hospital tank one of them decided to give birth. Now I have a tank with two sick fish (But getting better) and new fry.

So, the long and the short of it is, should I leave them all in the tank together? I am a little concerned about the Copper green and the fry.

Thank you for any advice you can offer!

i woudl take the fry out asap, and for the future you dont need any chems to treat ich. just raise the temp and add some salt then wait about a week. chems can kill fish and stress them out. ich meds slowly weaken and kill the parasite but it does the same to the fish. it just works faster on the parasite then the fish which is how it treats the parasite.

Thanks Money!

I moved the fry to another small tank, so now I have my fingers crossed!

Keep an eye on the main tank as well as ich might still be present there also even though it is not showing yet.

Good call on removing the fish though to a hospital tank.

10g Fry / Hospital / QT tank (as needed)

75g Saltwater Reef, Ocellaris Clownfish, Lyretail Antias (baby), Lemon damsel, Longtail Fairy Wrasse, purple dottyback, snails, crabs and a few LPS corals.

220g Still sitting empty (come on Lottery I need the numbers to come up!)

If I am not mistaken, Ich has a 3 or 4 week cycle. The main tank may have cysts, that are not responsive to most treatments. Might be a fgood idea to raise heat in your main tank as well. But keep an eye on oxygen as warmer water will not hold as much dissolved oxygen. Just my two cents worth.
