Hey Iv'e had my fish for over a year now. he recently has been not acting the same, he used to swim all around and was colorful and very active. now it doesnt even seem like he eats, and then once in awhile he'll float on his side at the top of the bowl.....he also looks like he is turning white or fading in color.........what could be the problem?
i know nothing about bettas, so I don't know for sure, but it sounds to me like your fish is sick. I hope someone who knows more than me answers your post to give you some real advice. Good luck with him though.
Sounds like he's sick for sure, what are your water parameters (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, pH)?, what is your water changing schedule? Is your tank heated anf iltered and what size is it? If you can answer these questions someone will help you diagnose your fish, it's hard to know what's wrong without that info.
I can't be sure until you post water parameters, but this definitely sounds like poor water quality. Are his eyes clouded too? It doesn't sound to good for your fish, if you don't have a water testing kit I would go out and get one now. I recommend a API liquid water testing kit with ammonia nitrites and nitrates. Have you seen you fishes poo lately? How long ago did he stop eating?
P.S just incase, I would be doing 10% daily water changes until you get your water tested. Unless it's causing more stress for the fish of course.
Is this the same fish you posted about on 7-3-08???
