Help! Did I accidentally kill my corys?

Hi,
New here. I've kept small freshwater aquariums for years but have recently been battling problems with algae and disease. I have a 30-gallon tank with three platys, three cherry barbs, three black skirt tetras and two emerald catfish. In the last couple weeks, two of my tetras (2+ yrs old) showed signs of white cottony fungus. UV filter seemed to take care of it and they were fine/clear, but then it showed up again with a vengeance. The next day, one of my platys started swimming sideways and demonstrating clamped fins.

So, I got Tetra Lifeguard and used the first dose last night ... but then I just realized it's not for scaleless fish! Did I just kill my corys?? They look fine right now, but I feel terrible and don't know what to do. I don't have a hospital tank, but I am about to run to the pet store and get one to set up. Will this help? What can I do for them?

Corys aren't exactly scaleless - I think they'll be fine, and if it's something that's spreading from one species to another it's probably a good idea to not wait to medicate. Just observe them and if you see signs of distress you can do a water change.

OK, thanks ... I will do the second dose tonight and keep an eye on them. I am not sure if my platy will make it, but we'll see. I hope this stuff works!
