Well I bought the thermometer and the heater, when I put the thermometer in the water his bowl was only 70 degrees, so I put the heater in and after it turned on he hasn't left it's side. :] I guess he was pretty cold, but thank you guys for that advise about the temprature because when I went into petco and asked about a heater they said that I didn't need one anyways, so I probably would have never bought one if I didn't know that they needed water that warm.
