AS mentioned before i had problems with feeding my eel something else apart from live food! After getting some suggestions about different diets i could put my eel on i started cutting down to its live food to every 2 days and started feeding it shrimp and prawns. I do not know however if he actually eats the food or if the other fish nibble on it to non existance!
This morning i woke up to find my eel laying on the floor! i dont even know how it got out since i`m quite sure all the exxits were blocked. Out of pure instinct, seeing that it was still alive i quickly put it back in the tank! I do not know however if this was smart but i was in simple shock and it looked to be dying. I have now moved the eel to a smaller tank as it actually looks bruised around the face - probably from the one metre fall.
Any idea why the eel would do this? the water is clean regularly! It was actually cleaned yesterday. I have now moved the ell to my 55 gallon tank and blocked off all its exits with a large pane of glass.
My main concern is why the eel would do so? is it the diet change? should i go back to feeding him feeders daily?
