grrr ram with pop eye

GRRR every thing was going well until yestwr day when my bulivan ram started showing signs of "pop eye" . the good thing is he still eats well :) but one problem i dont have a spare tank :( i put him in a breed for a while and fed him medicated food. im so mad cuz there only a week old

What are your water parameters, Joe? I assume you bought them from Walmart or whatever petstores were known for their bad reputation?

Poor water quality and internal parasites are often the culprits.

i tested it yester day with my last strip but luckly wroght down the awnsers :P gh180 kh120 ph7.1-7.4 no2:0 no3: 40ish (bit high) nh3 0. gt him at petsmart (its only a year old so its prettyclean place around)

Try lowering the nitrates to 10-20 ppm. What is your tank maintenance schedule?

right now its huge gravel vac once a month and i take like 25% out once a week

UPDATE: gave ram salt bath for 5 mins then put melafix on and around his eyes. the bulging has gotten smaller ( i think the gasses are releasing ) :P
